Totally cool day! I was an extra on the set of “I Love You Philip Morris” and was made a featured extra as a lawyer. Featured extra basically means you are part of the scene in a more prominent manner, as opposed to background…. where you are way in the back. So, in this scene, there were 5 of us at the table, including Jim. I was given instruction from the Director to react to one of Jim’s expressions… and the camera was right by face… so that means I could possibly end up in the movie!!!…. well, of course, if they don’t edit me out… hmm… let’s see.
But the highlight for me and my ego was that the director remembered me from the auditions. I had originally auditioned to be a “gay bartender” that would deliver 1 line to Jim Carrey. I got a 3rd and final callback, which is incredibly exciting… and was able to meed the directors. They told me they liked my “gay bartender” act, but now wanted the bartender to be straight… so I did the scene again straight… but they didn’t pick me. 🙁 go figure… they didn’t like me straight! 😉 Anyway, on set, the director looked at me and said “… and I remember you”…. that made me feel good because he’s (Glenn Ficarra) a big time Hollywood director and remembered me. Hopefully, next time, he’ll pick me!
