I’m happy to announce that I was asked to be part of “The New Normal Reading Series”, which aims to showcase ethnically diverse talent in Hollywood. Each showcase features a Latin team, a Black Team, and an Asian team… and tonight we also had a South Asian team.
The Latin team (my team!) performed 10 pages from the pilot script titled “Latinidad”, written by Kayden Phoenix. We had a blast rehearsing and performing…. and I was lucky to meet and work with the talented performers on team Latino. It’s truly amazing to see the hustle and effort each person puts into their careers… our Director (Alexis Carra) is an accomplished actor with Broadway credits and was a regular on the TV show Mixoloy. Orlando, another team member, just got a full-ride scholarship to Julliard. Our narrator, Camila Banus, is a regular on “Days of Our Lives”. And Marilyn, Edgar and Valeria all have ‘game’ and brought something special to the reading.
